Heather McShane is an instructor, writer, editor, and artist. She worked as an editor at World Book Encyclopedia before earning an MFA in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). At SAIC, she taught creative writing in their Early College Program and was an associate editor of Dear Navigator. Currently, she teaches for the City Colleges of Chicago, blogs regularly for The Lantern Daily, and volunteers as a vendor relations coordinator for Chicago Book Expo 2011. In her free time, she writes poems, stories, and text messages. She also likes to draw.
