Abigail Satinsky is a founding member of InCUBATE and Program Director at threewalls.
InCUBATE operated out of a storefront space until 2009, where they hosted a residency program, Sunday Soup, and researched new approaches to arts funding. Their projects have been shown as part of Creative Time’s “Democracy in America,” at Eyebeam Center for Art & Technology in New York, CEPA Gallery in Buffalo, SKYDIVE in Houston, Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago, and Autzen Gallery at Portland State University, among other places. They continue to write, curate exhibitions, and organize events collaboratively.
She’s written for Proximity Magazine, AREA Chicago, The Journal of Aesthetics and Protest, and The Artist-Run Chicago Digest. She was a Visiting Fellow at the John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage at Brown University in Spring 2010 and received her Master’s degree in Art History and Art Administration and Policy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2009.
