Just read that Poly Styrene, born Marianne Joan Elliott-Said, died yesterday of breast cancer. She was 53. Such a huge influence on so many “girl singers” that came after her….she was awesome. She wore braces onstage–because she still needed them.  “Little girls should be seen and not heard….Oh Bondage! Up Yours!” Yes.
