Randall Szott

Randall Szott is a former: chef, merchant mariner, public library director, state legislator, and town administrator. He now works in economic development and when he is feeling somewhat pretentious, which is quite often, he calls his field “public culture.” When he is feeling even more pretentious, he will tell you why social poiesis is a better term than social practice and why art is more interesting as a life practice than an academic discipline. He has an MFA in Art Critical Practices, an MA in Creative Arts: Creativity and Arts Education, and an interdisciplinary BA with a minor in philosophy.
