Lauren E. Vallone

Lauren ValloneLauren grew up in a city, then a suburb, then a farm in New Jersey. She moved to Chicago in 2005 to pursue a BFA from the School of the Art Institute in studio art, and is still working on that.

Concurrently she is studying American Sign Language-English interpretation at Columbia College. After brief stints nannying and reviewing porn for a feminist sex store, she is now working for the man at the Chicago Park District as one half of their Deaf and Hard of Hearing program, where she teaches art classes, sign language to kids and adults, runs a teen leadership club and coordinates summer camp.

She likes art, plants, animals, and cooking.
