Ah, so I wasn't alone in finding that little picture compelling. Good to know! I saw the Paul Chan show yesterday and am still chewing it over. I plan to blather on about it here at some point next week. Hey, thank you so much for commenting!

Just wanted to thank you for articulating exactly how I felt about the Katz show at Kasia Kay - that weird flower bouquet was completely arresting, giving me permission to forget the rest of the utterly forgettable show. Thanks for teasing out some of the logical reasons by it might have struck me in such a visceral way.

And the Paul Chan show was magnificent. Reading the description online and perusing his website ahead of time, I wasn't really sold on the idea - but he executed it beautifully down to the small details. He's created a nice little universe with equal parts Sadism, Law & Order, Culture Jamming, and all with fresh approaches to drawing and video. And it helped to hear him talk about his fonts, where they come from and how they function. All in all, a tight show definitely worth the trip to Hyde Park!
